4 out of 5 stars works well for me   September 8, 2008

I wanted an alternative to a drafting stool that would allow me to be up high, yet still keep my feet on the ground. This stool allows you to do that because of the forward tilt of the seat. The top most position is somewhere between sitting and standing, which is great if you're doing something more active than typing. I think it's really perfect for any activity where you might be up higher working on a bench or high table and don't feel like standing all the time. The only negative is that the low setting is just a tad high for my office desk with a keyboard tray underneath. The tray makes slight contact with the top of my legs, but it's still ok for a change from my standard office chair from time to time.

5 out of 5 stars Great artist's chair - a great back saver!   March 15, 2008

I like to stand or prop myself on a tall stool while doing my watercolor painting. At my art class I have the high stools I need, but at home my "office" chairs was too low and other wooden stools I had were too high. The net/net was I started my work seated, but found myself standing within a few minutes and continued to work that way for hours. I'd often want to continue painting but my back was screaming "NO MORE!" This chair has lots of height and tilt adjustment. No more pain while I'm painting.

5 out of 5 stars Superb chair   October 9, 2007

Purchasing a chair that has not been tried-out by simply sitting in it to test it's comfortability is ludicrous. Well, in my mind, it is. But, that's what I did. Based solely upon the manufacturer's description of the chair (and the accompanying photos), I thought, "what the hey" and ordered it up. I needed a small form factor of a chair for my garage workshop and this chair seemed to be perfect. I also need some low lumbar support when sitting for awhile.

The chair arrived quite quickly, surprising me. I expected a full 2-3 weeks worth of waiting. It came much sooner (within 3-days of the order). Assembling it was so easy, I had to recheck the assembly instructions, as I thought I had missed something. It took less than 10-minutes to assemble the chair right out of the box.

Comfortable, supportive, easy to operate, and low impact are words and phrases that describe this product. I can see where an artist would enjoy this chair. But, I'm no artist. I enjoy it when laying-out a wood project over my workbench or just taking a breather.

All-in-all I found it a great value for the price and as compared to other chairs that boast of lumbar support, etc. That short "stub" of a back works great!
